Storyboards are a means to communicate. A professional storyboard artist can translate that brilliant idea you have for a commercial to your client. The clearer a storyboard is, the better it communicates. The better it communicates, the more money you save in the long run.
Why would you hire a freelance storyboard artist? Not everyone can make a decent storyboard. You have to know a fair bit of film making and have the ability to draw well. Also, a storyboard artist is a trained storyteller and can give that extra punch to your project. Even though Bart from accounting can do a fair bit of drawing, if the client doesn’t understand what you’re about to do, you will lose the sale.
How can you justify the extra cost of hiring a freelance storyboard artist? You actually save money. The storyboard artist draws out your idea and can make it easily into an animatic. An animatic is a moving storyboard. Even sound can be added to make the experience better. Your client can now visualise your idea and give comments. This way the client will feel more involved in the project. Corrections can easily be made and before you start the expensive shoot, your client will know what to expect.
How long does it take to finish a storyboard? Or an animatic? This is the good bit. Depending on the length of your project and the complexity you can have your storyboard ready the next day. Call or e-mail PARTOON EMPIRE and we get it done!

Partoon Empire is established. After 7.5 years working as an employee Patrick Reyntens decided to go solo and focus on storyboarding. Currently working for Kavaleer on a great show called KIVA CAN DO.
A very short and simple cartoon I made last week, just for fun.
My first professional stop motion job!
Very short though but a lot of fun to work on. I planned and directed the animation on set and did most of the preproduction. The very talented Dries Bastiaensen helped me out with building armatures and with the animation. We did some long hours…Our hand model had to come to the studio around midnight to catch some cookies. Kudos to Isabelle! We also had an amazing and patient DOP, mister Tielevisie!
We had to do a lot of post production done by Jan Daghelinckx, Kristel Dom and a tiny bit by yours truly.
So yeah…A short clip but lots of people were involved in the end 🙂
I designed the characters and sets and did the storyboarding for this shiny commercial.
Concept: Trow a massive surprise party for a humble unknown Belgian to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of radio station JOEfm
Fantastic AD and post production by Jan Daghelinckx, awesome 3d animation by Bram Van Rompaey and Reinout Swinnen
Produced by SABOUGE
Here is the animatic I did for the project. As you can see some changes were made during the production.
Character animation work I did recently.
I animated a couple of commercials for BOSTOEN. Production: SABOUGE, Agency: Vandekerckhove&Devos
The concept of the next clips is a gameshow with two houses as candidates. They both claim to be energy efficient houses but which one is the real one?
Tochtdichtheid; The house on the left has a bit more difficulties keeping the air inside.
The house on the left has a bit more trouble with the summer heat…
The left house has serious troubles during the cold winter!
The left house spills Energy like mad!
Let’s see which house can get more funding!
Character design and animation by Partoon
Compositing by Wannes de Schepper
Production, toilet paper and coffee by Sabouge
I made a series of infomercials informing doctors about safety issues concerning their work environment. Copyright SABOUGE 2009
A silly little linetest. Parrots everywhere!
Test I did at the animation workshop in 2008. Still needs some polishing.
This is an animation test I did a couple of years ago. I guess I could have made it a bit less mime-like and spread the accents a bit more.
Two clips about a very boring subject! MONEY! So we had to make it interesting. I did the designs, animation, compositing and audio but needed some help from a colleague because of the tight deadline. I used Toon Boom Animate, After effects and a pile of cheap pizzas.
